Marshmallow wars

OK, so around an hour ago I overheard my sister, Hazel (as in Hazelnut) and my brother Sparkle (he chose that), arguing. I didn't hear much as I wasn't exactly interested and was trying to focus on writing, that was, until I heard the word marshmallow. On hearing said word I called out to Hazel and asked for a one, she called back saying that she'd in fact said 'her pillow', and seeing as I hadn't heard the conversation, I assumed she was telling the truth.

Half an hour later I heard a similar argument between the two again, though this time I distinctively heard Hazel say "Gees Sparkle, can you smell them or something!" before the word marshmallow was used again. Once again I called out to Hazel (being to lazy to actually get up) and once again, I received that answer that she'd said 'her pillow' not 'marshmallow'. Being too lazy I didn't pursue this, then I went and watched TV with Sparkle. After the program ended he proceeded to inform me that Hazel was hiding a bag of marshmallows in her room. Usually I'd ignore anything he said (he's a liar!), but seeing as I thought I'd heard several mentions to marshmallow's before I went and checked.

Hazel was in her room, doing stuff on the Internet (I think it was moshi monsters or something). When I came in and demanded she give me marshmallows she simply informed me, once again, that she didn't have any. Determined not to give up, we proceeded to have a discussion over this fact (most of it involving me pestering her for marshmallows). Now Hazel is a very good liar (I take full credit for that), but her skills died today as her story kept altering slightly. At some points she'd deny having any marshmallows and at others she'd almost imply it. Finally, Sparkle came in and preceded to find the hidden bag; at this point hell broke loose and the true war began. Hazel graped the bag and tried to keep it away from the two of us, until I managed to pull her to the ground, after which a lot of wrestling took place. Finally (after I let Hazel go on one occasion after she promised to let me have a marshmallow if I let her go, only to have her lie to me) Sparkle got hold of the bag and ran to his room (dumb move I must say). Hazel ran after him, me in close pursuit. In Sparkle's room the battle continued until Hazel got hold of the bag again and promised me a marshmallow should I let her go. Me being a dumb trusting idiot, trusted her. She sat up, pulled out a marshmallow, held it out to me then ate it as I reached for it.

At this point I was rather annoyed. As she ate the marshmallow victoriously I leapt at her, grabbed the bag out of her expecting hand and bolted the heck out of that room, laughing like a maniac. I ran through the house, dodging my parents while I fled for my life both laughing and screaming at the same time as I knew if Hazel caught me, I'd be dead. Finally I hit a dead end in my parents room where Resha (I have no idea, she chose it) was on the computer and Link (as in Zelda and Link, as he's still tried to beat one of the games) was on the wii. Now as I ran in screaming I jumped on the bed and tried to keep away from Hazel, Link decided to join in. Once again we ended up wrestling for the marshmallows, only this time Hazel tackled me. Finally, after a valiant struggle, Hazel got her marshmallows back and when back to her room. But to not fear, by this point I'd already eaten one, and had managed to steal another three with the help of Link who also grabbed a few.

At this very moment Hazel is steaming in her room, and I remain victorious.
Well not exactly as she seemed rather uncaring when I went to ask her what name she me to use for this blog. I'm beginning to think my family has simply stopped expecting maturity from me. Not that I'm complaining.

Until next time!

A day in the life of a peanut

Today was hardly a sunny, bright day as it was raining. Just the way I like it, though the cold sucks.
After an eventful class of dance, in which we learnt a some new moves for the jive, I had tutor. Now since everyone is choosing subjects for year 11, it so happened that Mandy and Bella (Don't think Leslie's given them names yet, so here they are!!!) brought up what I plan on doing with my life. Seeing as I'm a slightly obsessive gamer, I've decided that for my future I'm aiming to be a games developer, something a number of my friends find rather amusing.

Bella, hasn't come up with any plans for her future and has therefor decided to either become a gold digger, or die young. Mandy on the other hand has decided on a similar path, or a high paying job. I can never be certain as they spend most of tutor outlining my future for me. According to them, I shall in fact become extremal rich with my chosen career. You may be thinking that they are simply being supportive friends, by how wrong you are. After telling me I shall be incredibly rich and successful, they then proceeded to detail the way my social life will turn out. I will put this in their words (although not exact as my memory is appalling, I had to check my diary just to remember what subject I had first)

Mandy (M): Yeah, you'll be rich, but you're not going to have any friends. Even your family will disown you. I mean they pretty much already are.
Bella (B): Yeah, you'll be one of those people who tie their hair back really tight as a functionality thing so you can see the screen. And you'll let yourself go.
M: You'll end up sad and lonely in your huge empty house.

This was the basic idea of the whole conversation. I did try and retaliate with the comfort that although I may be rich and alone, I won't be poor and alone like them. They shook this off saying it didn't matter as they'd just marry rich people. I lost this argument miserably. After tutor was Physics, I class I find unusually boring. I sat with Aviator, most of the time he wears one of my fingerless gloves (they are rather epic) but today seeing as I wasn't wearing them he didn't get the chance. We did have one unusual conversation, but I cannot recall it at this time. And we also decided to move to different seats next lesson as to escape our current 'neighbours'. At the end the teacher gave out sweets for no apparent reason. Aviator complained that he hadn't earned the lollipop he'd chosen, but then refused to give it to a passerby who offered to take it for him. I ate my mini mars bar happily, coming to the conclusion that I'm pretty sure I'm a slight chocoholic.

After an incredibly uneventful, or more likely unproductive double drama I read some of Leslie's blog as I'd gotten too distracted by pictures on the Internet the night before to read it then. The last two classes were also rather unproductive, as I spent all of woodwork avoiding using the domino machine as I'm fairly sure that I'll ruin by job, and Pablo refused to do it for me. My last class, RAVE (Religious and Values Education (I think)) was annoying as our teacher is rather patronising and well, annoying. Though another student did sneak into the class and pretended to belong their until they realised that the teacher wasn't going to notice and quickly excused themselves, I will refer to him as Locks as I can and no one else seems to have named him either.

And lastly on the way home on the bus the clouds decided to disappear meaning the whole way home I had the sun in my eyes as I attempted to hold a conversation with Frog. I believe it's by punishment for being spared wet socks. Earlier that day I'd dragged Gwen to the canteen with me as I was hungry. I found an invitingly deep puddle and decided to check just how deep it was. It was close but I didn't actually get and water in my shoe, the sun in my eyes was, in my opinion, the worlds was of making sure I still suffer in some way.

And so my day, enjoy! Peanut~

The BSDDG

Last week most of my years English speeches were due. I had to do mine on the second day, but a few of my friends didn't. So now I can happily watch everyone else stress over my first ever topic. The other day I was considering what actually makes up the art of Procrastination! (dramatic music!!) and I think I've narrowed it down to five points, that I will not officially name, BSDDG!!!
OK so now I think I'll break it down for you.

1. Boredom:
I'm pretty sure everyone knows the feeling when they know they have something they need to get done, be it homework, chores, music practice, speeches or anything else that needs prior planing and work. Well that's what starts it all off, when you know you need to get it done, but you really don't want to start. That or you have no idea where to start. Now for this first step to usually take place, the due date for said thing is usually a fair way off, be it not till the end of the week, or that you have the whole weekend to get it done, and it's only Saturday.

2. Stalling:
With this feeling of time your constant companion, you getting started off for just a moment, while you say, look up something your friend sent you, or post a certain blog. You may do this several times and only take a few minutes, maybe ten to twenty, possibly longer. But who cares? You still have all day!

3. Discovery:
Now this is when things get interesting. It's when, after only a short time of Stalling, you come across something genuinely interesting! Be it a sight devoted to awesome pictures, or funny points about the problems of all the Pokemon games (yes, Pokemon deserves a capital as it is awesome). So you begin looking into it, slowly becoming immersed in either gathering every single picture you like to complete sets that you've made up yourself (a particular example I can think off, is trying to collect a specific artists depiction of what every single Pokemon would look like if human. That means all 493. Well that was the number at the time, but now thanks to the new generation there are over 500) or simply finding it so much fun to read them all, you loose track of time. Note: Most of the Discoveries I am referring to are Internet related, but this is not always the case, it also includes a book you suddenly find while cleaning your room, or anything else you can think off.

4. Denial:
By this time, hours have passed, and you've barely noticed. You suddenly glance at a clock to discover that most of the day is gone. Suddenly you realise you've waisted most of your day doing something you didn't even want to do. At this point one either accepts they've just waisted their day, or they try to reason with themselves that they actually wanted to do that. In either case, one usually then tries to actually do some work. In some cases you actually succeed and my last point no longer seems relevant, but in most of my experience, you're mind-frame has gotten so used to whatever you were doing beforehand, that you keep finding yourself slipping back to it, the whole time either fighting it, or telling yourself that it's OK, just one more. And so, no work gets done that day.

5. Guilt:
The final, and most unpleasant part of the process. It's the feeling you get a 11 at night when you realise that you've just waisted you're whole day. Most of the time you were planning of doing something after the work was done, but since you spent the whole time Procrastinating you didn't even do that. Meaning you've just spent the most pointless day possible. The guilt also drifts into the possible later panic one gets when they are trying to write a whole speech the day before you have to actually give it, or just before a music exam (the reason I never want to sign up for one again).

And so, dear reader, I give you my five steps to Procrastination. Hope you enjoyed, and perhaps it will teach you a think or two about not doing it. Though I have found, over my years of life, that I actually do a pretty good job of writing most of an essay at 11 the night before it's due. I do not however like cramming. Don't do it, I hate it. Though it may work for you, I find it distracts from the facts you already know (it helps to have some facts though. If you don't, by all means cram.).

Well, see ya! Peanut!
